Oldham Council’s libraries provide the community with, free at the point of access, provision of literature, cultural and learning opportunities. They ensure that support for Oldham’s families does not end when school closes by providing fun and free educational activities and resources. Their 12 library locations and various outreach activities represent borough-wide provision. The library service operates according to a national Health Offer initiative and a Children’s Promise. Accordingly, all programmes and activities consciously work to promote happy healthy living through family education and access to quality cultural experiences. Their aims as a service is to be inclusive, fair and understanding. Promoting community and celebrating the borough’s diversity and the cultures that make it up.
